Moana Merle Kim Lyman, 81, of Hilo, died Nov. 5, 2021, at her residence. Born in Ho’olehua, Molokai, she was a retired accounts clerk at Haili Christian School, homemaker and a member of the Haili Congregational Church and Puna Covenant Church.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Nov. 26 at Puna Covenant Church in Keaau for a 10:30 a.m. service. Burial to follow at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
She is survived by son, Robert Lyman of Hilo; daughter, Kim (Paul) McCarty of Kurtistown; brother, Ronald (Annie) Kim of Oahu; sister, Mokihana (Peter) Digerlando of California; six grandchildren; six great-grand-children; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Sherwood
Elizabeth Ann Sherwood, 52 of Ocean View died Oct. 29, 2021. Born Jan. 19, 1969 in Sterlington, Louisiana, she owned a cleaning business.

Jose Barajas
Jose Martiniano Barajas, 57, of Pahoa died Oct. 28, 2o21, at his residence. Born in Honolulu, he was a fence installer, mechanic, woodworker and animal caretaker.

Darrell Chong
Darrell Bert Ka-Yee Wong Chong, 67, of Hilo and formerly of Naalehu, died Oct. 23, 2021, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Pahala, he was a cashier at the former Pick and Pay Market in Naalehu and a waiter at Volcano House and Kilauea Military Camp.

Christopher Lecce
Christopher “Chris” Albert Lecce, 69, of Kailua-Kona, died Nov. 18, 2021, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Dec. 10, 1951 in Philadelphia, he was a limousine driver for Resorts Limousine Services, a retired business owner, scuba diver and member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Nov. 23 at St. Michael the Archangel Church for Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
He is survived by son, Antonio (Jerilyn) Lecce of Montana; daughter, Gina (Ryan) Plumb of Colorado; sister, Linda (Clete) Zink of Montana; seven grandchildren; and two nieces.

Leroy Victorine
Leroy John Victorine, 82, of Hilo, died Aug. 14, 2020 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Sept. 6, 1937 in Hilo, he was a retired assistant police chief for the Hawaii County Police Department, former DJ for KIPA, U.S. Air Force veteran, director of airport security for the former Wackenhut, director of TSA at Hilo Airport, director of Harbor Security in Hilo, and served terms on the county Board of Ethics and the Police Commission.

Joanne Vasey
Joanne Marie Vasey, 76, of Ocean View, died Sept. 23, 2021 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Sept. 25, 1944, in Seattle, she was a brush picker and in-home care provider for the state of Oregon.

Nora Leilehua Lacerdo Tavares, 91, of Hilo, died Oct. 24, 2021 at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 31, 1930, in Hilo, she was a retired courier for Kodak and former disc jockey for KIPA, KHLO and KIMO.

Arnold Ackerman
Arnold Douglas Ackerman, 69, of Kealakekua, died Nov. 13, 2021, at his residence. Born Dec. 22, 1951, in Kealakekua, he was a television producer, cattle rancher, member of the Kona Mauka Rotary, Food Bank, Kai O Pua Canoe Club and the Kona Hospital Foundation.
